Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA)

Recycled concrete aggregate (RCA), compare to traditional stone, comes from old concrete. We recycle the old material by crushing and processing it. Like RAP, RCA does not rely on virgin material sources – making it less expensive and friendlier to our environment to procure. The current rate for RCA is $6/t.

Foam Stabalized Base (FSB)

FSB is produced with 100% recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and involves a cold mixing process: you can hold it in your hand as soon as it comes out of the KMA central mill. Energy use is a small fraction of the hot mix process and there are no greenhouse emissions.

FSB vs Hot Mix

Conventional hot mix asphalt requires virgin quarried aggregates to be super heated to over 300 degrees Fahrenheit before being coated with a hot asphalt cement. It is a very energy intensive process with significant green house stack emissions.
